釋迦牟尼佛，原名悉達多.喬達摩，佛教始祖，被後世尊稱爲佛陀，意爲覺悟者。

本尊釋迦牟尼佛造像呈半跏跌坐，曲眉垂目，神態莊和，螺發微隆上升，呈象形鳍狀，兩手結禅定印，手部大拇指部分微微上翹，身材修長，肩膀略削，紋刻線簡潔利落，衣裙下擺自然環繞搭于台座。造像施以青玉，素雅中又見華麗。

This is a sapphire statue of Buddha Sakyamuni. Sakyamuni (originally Siddhartha Gotama) is the founder of Buddhism and he is known as the Buddha,namely the awakened one.

The statue of Sakyamuni is sitting peacefully in the semi-lotus position with arched eyebrows,downcast eyes and a spiral coil humping like a fin,His hands are in the mudra of meditation with both thumbs upward a little bit. The statue is slender in shape.sloping in shoulders and clear-cut in lines of clothes,and its lower hem encircles the throne in a natural manner.
